JOIN THE CONVERSATION
Callander and Climate Change is delighted to be able to offer free courses of Carbon Conversations, selected by the Guardian as ‘one of the 20 most promising solutions to Climate Change’. The course is being used by a growing number of communities and businesses all over the UK to discuss how climate change and environmental issues will affect us and how we can build a better future together.
Carbon Conversations is an inspiring, practical 6-session course on low-carbon living. Participants come together to discuss climate change, what it means for them, their family and how it will affect our future. Discussions of practicalities are woven together with conversations of what future changes mean to us personally. Meetings are non-judgemental.
You are encouraged to share ideas and views, and to make positive lifestyle changes. No prior knowledge is required, an open mind and a little bit of time are all that you need. The 2-hour sessions take place fortnightly and are led by two trained facilitators. Everyone receives a professionally designed, reliable handbook covering the basic facts of climate change, ideas for a low-carbon future and the four key areas of our carbon footprints – home energy, travel, food and consumption.
If you would like to know more, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
If you are a group of friends or members of a community group, we would be happy to come along and introduce it.
If you would like to talk to somebody who has participated in the course already; over a dozen local residents have taken part and are happy to share their experience.
This course has quite a unique approach, different from what you’d usually expect, so come along and find out for yourself whether it deserves the Guardian’s award!
Taster sessions are held in the National Park Office in Callander on the 19th of July from 6:45 -8:45 pm and on the 22nd of July from 9:45 am.
